Our church welcomes children of all ages in worship, even your youngest. We also have a nursery/cry room at the back of the sanctuary where you can accompany your little one to play, while you listen to and observe the worship service, if you prefer that.
Children’s Sunday School is held during the 9:30 am worship service. Children begin in church with their parents, then are led to Sunday School after the Children’s Talk. Classes are year-round, however, during the summer months we center our Summer Sunday School Program on favorite Bible Stories. The teachers introduce the Bible Story for the day using one of our children’s Bibles, then we watch a cartoon video of the story. Even our teachers enjoy these movies! We watch Veggie Tale movies as a treat at Christmas and Easter. Of course, with every video, the children get snacks, popcorn, or another treat.
From mid-September through the end of May, regular classes are held for 3-year olds – 4th graders and 5th graders – teens. The younger children remain in Sunday School until the end of the worship service. Older Children rejoin their parents for Holy Communion, then remain in worship through the end of the service. Visiting children are always welcome to join us!
The children love playing bells for the congregation during Advent and for special occasions! They are so proud when the congregation claps for them. All our children take part in our Christmas Program.
COVID-19 Update starting November 1, 2020 @ 10am:
The classes will be divided into Jr Sunday School and Sr Sunday school. Jr is Elementary grades and Sr is Middle and High school.
With the services being only 30 minutes right now, the children will go directly to the classrooms. Both classes will stay in Sunday School the entire time. The Sr class will not have Sunday School on the 1st Sunday of the month while services remain 30 minutes. They will instead join their parents in church for the full service on that Sunday so they can take Communion. After we resume 1 hr services the Classes will go back to their regular schedule.
Update starting April 03, 2022 @ 10am:
Due to non attendance of Sunday School aged children and some health issues, I am so sorry that Sunday School is cancelled indefinitely as of this Sunday. Thanks so much to our wonderful volunteers who have taught in the past, and especially this year. It has been such a joy for each and every one of us to teach our beautiful children about God’s love for them. Debby
